After a very pressurised January, same late clients, same excuses, pressurised cashflow paying overtime, working 80 hours per week, flu, health etc etc………..I said something has to change.

I called Kieran Phelan before Christmas and asked him to show us how he does things in his Cloud 360 Accounting practice.

We settled on a date of early February. Kieran came in and presented us with a new way of doing things over 2 interesting days.

I had always wanted to be the trusted advisor to clients and I have tried many ways of doing this and at considerable expense and not really getting there.

There had to be a mindset change in a practice of 6 people who were hung up on Sage for many years.

With Making Tax Digital (MTD) around the corner, the time for putting cloud off was over. Kieran showed us all about Xero and all the benefits it brings.

We also looked at Receipt Bank, Go Cardless, Go Proposal, Float and Syft Analytics.

Since last week we have started our cloud migration journey with a target to have at least 50 migrated for the start of MTD.

We as a team are energised and I am looking forward to telling our clients our new systems.

I always tell clients to work on their business not jn it, but I never really practiced it myself.
My dream of a digital practice has begun so we can offer real value to our clients and only adding clients that fit our profile. Sometimes you need to say no and Kieran has taught us that.
